The New Mexico Land Grant Council is an agency of state government administratively attached to the New Mexico Department of Finance and Administration. It was founded in 2009 by statute and provides support to 24 land grants-mercedes in New Mexico recognized as units of government (political subdivisions of the state). It also serves as a liaison between mercedes and other state agencies and the federal government. The Council consists of five members appointed by the Governor. (See About us.)
The NM Land Grant Council’s next meeting will be held at 10:00 a.m. on August 14, 2015, at the University of New Mexico Main Campus in Albuquerque. The meeting will be in Dane Smith Hall Room 231. Dane Smith Hall is located on the Southwest Corner of Yale & Las Lomas. Paid parking is available in the parking structure on the Southeast Corner of Yale and Lomas. Also free parking permits will be available for pick up at the Southwest Hispanic Research Institute located at 1829 Sigma Chi Rd, NE. With a parking permit parking you can park in the C Lot located on Las Lomas, just west of Dane Smith Hall on the Southside of the Street..
